Rosario Martinez-Cañas was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She received her MFA from Miami International University of Art & Design. Rosario has worked in the graphic design field for many
years and is the founding partner of The Image Designers Group, an award-winning graphic design studio.
The studio has been recognized for its design work and was featured in Hot Graphics USA. Professor
Martinez-Cañas served on the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Miami
Chapter for six years and is currently the advisor for the AIGA’s New World School of the Arts student chapter.
